You've probably seen a billboard like this around the Yuba-Sutter area in the spring and summer of 2008.

This website—stopmeth.infois an extension of that campaign to educate people about just what kind of problems methamphetamine use causes locally, and what you can do about it.

We're making the campaign—and the problem—something people can see as they drive, by extending the use of billboards and bus shelter advertising like this:

To make the point in another way—and drive people to the StopMeth.Info website—Radio commercials like this one aired at saturation levels on KSFM, 102.5, a station popular with many young people in the Yuba-Sutter area.  Click here to hear the spot if you don't hear it playing automatically as you read this page.

Other commercials aired on Country 103.1, Sunny 101.5 and on KMYC.

We're getting the message to young people in other ways. Beginning with the "Music over Meth" concert on June 21, 2008, more than 10,000 of these 4 x 6 "Club Cards" are being distributed community wide.

More cards with different targets have been designed, and may be put into circulation this fall.

Other media-based activities are planned in order to get the word out about just how Methamphetamine is affecting Yuba-Sutter.

It's a joint effort of PUMPEd! (Preventing the Use of Methamphetamine Permanently through Education) a sub group of the Substance Abuse Steering Coalition.

The collaboration includes the Bi-County Juvenile Justice Commission, area law enforcement, Drug and Alcohol Prevention agencies in both counties, the Substance Abuse Steering Coalition, Friday Night Live and interested community members committed to reducing the methamphetamine problem in Sutter and Yuba Counties.
